Opal Mae Self was born Aug. 2, 1914, and died on Thursday, May 2, 2002. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 5 May 2002 Opal Mae Self Funeral service for Opal Mae Self, 87, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Opal Mae Self was born August 2, 1914, in Godley, TX, the daughter of William "Will" and Zula Anderton, and died May 2, 2002, in Chickasha. She had worked in the Nursery Department at Avenue Baptist Church in Hereford, TX. She also worked at the Nursery Department at First Baptist Church in Tuttle. She provided Day Care for working mothers in Hereford, TX, for over twenty years. She was a member of Avenue Baptist Church in Tuttle, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, A. J. Self, in 1995; son, A. W. Self, in 1989; daughter Lucille Bollinger, in January of 2002; infant daughter, Opal Louise Self, in 1941; and sister, Dimple Henderson. Survivors include: son: Leroy Self, of Eloy, AZ; son: David Self, of Ankara, Turkey; son: Leon Self, of Norman, OK; son: Charles Self, of Hereford, TX; daughter: Audrie Stowers, of Sun City, CA; son: Joe Self, of Amarillo, TX; brother: Bradford Anderton, of Mineral Wells, TX; sister: Naomi Merrill, of Hereford, TX; 22 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
