All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 6 June 2004 :Rose Hill Cemetery--Chickasha OK FRANCES BURTSCHI SULLIVAN Funeral service for Frances Burtschi Sullivan, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 7, 2004, at Holy Name Catholic Church. Rosary will be held Sunday, June 6, 2004, at the Sevier Funeral Home Chapel at 7:00 p.m. Frances was born March 23, 1912, in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Martin A. Burtschi and Emma Kastner Burtschi, and died June 4, 2004, in Chickasha. When just nine months old, Frances and her family moved to a farm in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Later they moved to Chickasha, to farm at the west edge of Chickasha, the present site of the Chickasha Senior High School. At the age of 12 years, the family moved within the city limits of Chickasha. Her father and mother owned and operated the New Chickasha Hotel Coffee Shop for many years. Frances attended St. Joseph's Academy, where she graduated from high school with many honors. Subsequently she attended OCW-OCLA for two years. While there she was a member of De Ganna Ve Social Club. She worked for Chickasha Cotton Oil Company until her marriage to William (Bill) Sullivan, June 12, 1934. They had two daughters and three sons. Frances was a life-time member of the Catholic Church. She served as past President of St. Joseph's Academy P.T.A., the Ladies' Activity, and the National Council of Catholic Women, Lawton Deanery. She was secretary of Holy Name Cemetery Association for 35 years and was a lector for the church for many years. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, three sisters, and her husband Bill, two daughters, Charlotte Brown and Kathleen Mrasek, and a son, Thomas J. Sullivan. She is survived by her sons, William P. Sullivan and his wife Billie Dell, of San Jose, CA, and John F. Sullivan and his wife Juanita, of Cincinnati, OH; and her sons-in-law Don W. Brown, of Chickasha, and Vincent Mrasek and his wife, Judy, of Claremore. She has 18 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
