Charlotte died suddenly at her home in Tuttle on March 30, 2002. She was born in Verden on June 4, 1948, to William O. "Doc" Heavin and Dorothy Heavin. Charlotte grew up in Verden, Okla. She graduated from Verden High School and married Luther Wayne Martin. They moved to Jones, where Charlotte raised her two sons. Charlotte was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her father and her first husband, Wayne Martin. She is survived by: Charles Shelden, Jr., her husband of eight years; her sons, Darren Wayne Martin and wife, Jean Ellen, of Edmond, David Wayne Martin and wife, Tara, of Midlothian, Texas, Charles Shelden III and wife, Brandi, of Blanchard, and Paul Scott Shelden and wife, Sara, of Largo, Fla.; her siblings, Barbara Herron, Roland Heavin and Ronald Heavin; and four grandchildren. Charlotte will be remembered by all of her deep love of her family and friends and her wonderful sense of humor, and unforgettable laugh. Charlotte spent much of her spare time with Charles and Mandy (their English Bulldog) on Lake Texhoma enjoying the fishing, fun and sun. Interment was under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the American Heart Association.
