W. Sweeney living one mile west and two miles south of Verden, passed away at her home, Thursday, October 15th, 1914. Cause of death was lung trouble. She had been in bad health for some time and bore her suffering patiently and without murmuring. Mrs. Sweeney was born in Franklin, North Carolina, and is the daughter of J. E. Roper, living near Washita, Oklahoma. She was a Christian and was loved and respected by all who knew her having professed hope in Christ about ten years ago and united with the Methodist church. She was united in marriage to B. W. Sweeney at Anadarko, July 17th, 1907. No children were born to this union but she will be missed by a number of relatives and friends and the community has lost a loyal member and her husband a faithful wife in her death. Funeral services were held Friday, October 16th, 1914, at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. P. F. Harman, and her remains were laid to rest in the Verden cemetery amid a host of sorrowing relatives and friends. The news extends sympathy to the family, and offers the suggestions that we shall all meet again. ========== CARD OF THANKS We wish to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the kind neighbors and friends who assisted us during the illness and death of our beloved wife and daughter.
