GERTRUDE CECIL SWEANY

Funeral services for Gertrude Cecil Sweany, 92, of Marlow, Okla., will be 
held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel, 
Marlow.  Rev. Cecil Winberry will officiate.  Family will greet friends at 
the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2003.

Gertrude Cecil Sweany was born Nov. 6, 1910, in Elgin, Okla., and died on 
Monday, July 28, 2003, at Duncan Regional Hospital in Duncan, Okla.

Burial will be in Rush Springs Cemetery, Rush Springs, Okla., under the 
direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel of Rush Springs.

Monday, July 28, 2003, in a Duncan hospital. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. 
Wednesday in the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Rush Springs 
with the Rev. Cecil Winberry officiating. Burial will be in Rush Springs 
Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral 
home.

Gertrude Cecil Sweany

MARLOW — Funeral for Gertrude Cecil Sweany, 92, Marlow, will be at 2 p.m. 
Wednesday, at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel, Rush Springs, with the Rev. 
Cecil Winberry officiating.

Mrs. Sweany died Monday, July 28, 2003 in Duncan.

Burial will be in Rush Springs Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 6, 1910, in Elgin, to Joe E. Foreman and Carrie Sperling 
Foreman. She married Henry Joshua Sweany on Dec. 14, 1929, in Grady 
County. He died Nov. 12, 1993. She lived in the Grady and Stephens County 
area most of her life. She was a homemaker and an antique dealer. 

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Darrel and June Sweany, 
Marlow; two daughters and sons-in-law: Rosemary and Dennis Howard, Urbana, 
Mo.; and Norma and Cecil Winberry, Poplar Bluff, Mo. a sister, Ruth Helen 
Ray, Albuquerque, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 33 
great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Loretta 
Garrison.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
