Schmidt Funeral service for Ferdinand "Ferdie" S. Schmidt, 93, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 25, 2002, at the Plainview Mennonite Church. Ferdinand "Ferdie" S. Schmidt was born March 6, 1908, in Cement, Oklahoma, the son of Samuel B. and Elizabeth (Nichols) Schmidt, and died February 21, 2002, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Mr. Schmidt lived in Grady County most of his life. He farmed in the Pioneer School area. He and Irene Sebrant were married, and she preceded him in death in 1988. Mr. Schmidt was a member of the Plainview Mennonite Church. He was also preceded in death by: 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include: 5 daughters and their husbands: Verna and Walter Boehs, of Isabella, Oklahoma, Lenora Unruh, of Cement, Oklahoma, Erma Jean and Gilbert Unruh, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Ethelene and Raymond Unruh, of Macon, Mississippi, Belinda and Willis Koehn, of Scio, Oregon; 6 sons and their wives: Milferd and Rosetta Schmidt, of Livingston, California, Gilmer and Margaret Schmidt, of Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, Roger and Carolyn Schmidt, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Elgin and Bonnie Schmidt, of Macon, Mississippi, Lendon and Karen Schmidt, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, Eulan and LaDonna Schmidt, of Emelle Alabama; 1 sister: Anna Boehs, of Moundridge, Kansas; 40 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Plainview Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Plainview Mennonite School, in care of Raymond Jantz, Rt. 3, Box 218 Chickasha, OK 73018.
