Montie Lee Smith

BORGER - Montie Lee "Jack" Smith, 71, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bible Baptist Church with 
the Rev. Leonard Forsythe officiating. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell 
Funeral Directors.

Mr. Smith was born in Chickasha, Okla., and was a longtime resident of 
both Fritch and Borger. He retired as a welder for Anderson welding and 
was the former owner of J&M Horseman Supply. He served with the Seabees 
during World War II and was a 32 degree Mason and a Baptist.

He married Carma Sue Herin in 1959 at Juarez, Mexico.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Montie Hardin of Dallas, Darwin 
Ashford of Hot Springs, Ark., Ricky Smith of Borger and Robert Reiley of 
Phoenix; three daughters, Tammy Hysmith of Fritch, Pamela Garcia of Borger 
and Rosa Barber of Fritch; a brother, Billy Smith of Hereford; a sister, 
Johnetta Fletcher of Bakersfield, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and two great-
grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. 
Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101.
