All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Fairlawn Cemetery--Chickasha OK The Chickasha Express-Star Monday, 21 November 2005 NORMAN DEAN SMITH Funeral service for Norman Dean Smith, age 40, formerly of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at the Grand Assembly of God Church in Chickasha. Rev. Larry Hatfield, pastor, will be officiating. Norman Dean Smith was born November 16, 1965 in Clovis, New Mexico and died November 18, 2005 in Chickasha after a 32 year battle with diabetes. He was the son of Kenneth Jerome and Joyce (Nieto) Smith. He attended Amber-Pocasset High School where he graduated in 1984. In 1988 he went to work for the McClain-Grady County Emergency Medical Service. He was an "In House" instructor and Certified paramedic where he was currently working with his partner, Dennis Singleton. Dean was an active member of Grand Assembly of God Church. He was a backup drummer and was involved in the puppet ministry. Dean was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Jerome Smith of Norman. Survivors include: his mother: Joyce Smith of Chickasha; three brothers: Kurtis Smith and wife Pam of Laporte, Texas; Jeff Smith and wife Mary of Oklahoma City; James and wife Marty Smith of Houston, Texas; two sisters: Marilyn Woods of Norman, Oklahoma; Debbie Jobe and husband Rick of Chickasha; two nephews, eight nieces, two aunts: Carmen Austin and Stella Smith of Chickasha; one uncle; Sam Nieto and his wife Dee of Chickasha; and a special cousin, Amy Smith of Chickasha.
