All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Resthaven Memorial Park--Midland TX Smith, Virginia Mae Virginia Mae Smith Former Resident of Concord Virginia Mae Smith, of Midland, Texas, formerly of Concord, California, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2007. She was born March 14, 1918 to William Jones and Willie Mae Hunter Jones in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Virginia married LeRoy Smith, also of Oklahoma, on March 17, 1940. In 1945, they moved to Concord, California, where she was a manager of a dress shop for many years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grand- mother, and was very proud of her family. She also loved to crochet and cook. Virginia was Kiowa, Cheyenne, Cherokee and Apache, and was very proud of her Native American ancestry. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, LeRoy Smith, and son, Bill Jones. Virginia is survived by her daughters, Sharon Horton of Midland, TX; and Shirley Reuland of San Ramon, CA; grandson, Bobby Reuland of Cotulla, TX; granddaughters, Tracey Gonzales and Tisha Horton, both of Midland, TX; and Donna Smith of San Ramon, CA; brother, J.C. Jones of Redding, CA; seventeen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Thursday, January 25, 2007 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. Graveside services have been scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 26, 2007 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.
