Father Elmer Schwarz will officiate. Donald Lee Sanders was born on January 29, 1936, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, the son of Grant Sanders and Ada Beard Sanders. He died on Sunday, March 4, 2001, at his home in Ninnekah. Don graduated from Alva High School and attended Northwestern State University. He married Margaret Sanders on July 10, 1973, in Wichita, Kansas. Don worked as a market manager all of his life. He retired from Lightner's in 1994 due to health reasons. In his retirement, he became an active member of the Eagles Lodge. Don spent his time cooking for his family and being there for his grandchildren. He attended the Holy Name Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bob and Wayne McDonald, sister, Pauline McPherson, daughter, Terry Lynn. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Sanders of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Glenn Hoge of Woodward, Rise and Bud Wasser of Pocasset, Debbie and Steven Keith of Phoenix, Arizona, Kathy and Perry Wenzel of Ninnekah; five sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Marla Sanders of Minco, David Scott and Teresa Sanders of Chickasha, Steven and Marie Sanders of Chickasha, Chris and Lisa Lowe of Seattle, Washington, and David Dean and Debbie Lowe of Ninnekah; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Doug Ullom of Dodge City, Kansas; twenty-four grandchildren; one grandchild expected; two great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
