All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 26 July 2004 BOB DONALD SNELL Funeral services for Bob Donald Snell, 77, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at the Bible Baptist Church. Bob Donald Snell was born July 3, 1927, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the son of Jim R. and Ida Johnson Snell. He died Saturday, July 24, 2004, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. When Bob was 17 years old, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served one and a half years, with a tour in China. He then worked for the Chickasha Police Department for 20 years, where he retired in 1982. He then worked for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority for 10 years, where he retired in 1992. He and Margaret Bilbrey were married January 30, 1954, in Hawthorne, California. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, James R. Snell, Rollie M. Snell, Clarence E. Snell, and one sister, Dorothea Hill. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Snell of the home; one son, David Snell and his wife Sharon of Chickasha; one daughter, Kathy Johnson and her husband, Daniel of Bridge Creek; five grandchildren, Stacy Snell of Chickasha, Lisa Baker and her husband, Michael of Chickasha, Ryan Johnson of Bridge Creek, Colin Johnson of Bridge Creek, Drew Johnson of Bridge Creek; and one sister, Jane Thomas of Chickasha. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made at First National Bank.
