All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== (Unknown Newspaper) Mrs. Tennie Simmons Funeral services for Mrs. Tennie Simmons of Alex were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Alex Methodist Church. Rev. Joe Wallen officiated. Mrs Simmons died Oct. 8 in her home following a heart attack. She had been in failing health since 1949. She was born Jan. 24, in Fateville, Tenn. And had lived in Caddo and Alex since 1927. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Her husband, William H. Simmons, preceded her in death in 1944. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Jackson of Wylie, TX; five sons, Ira and Roy of Alex, James and John of Wylie, and A.C. of Garland, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Mattie James of Whitewright, Tex., Mrs. Jimmie Sanderson of Brownwood, Tex., and Mrs. Clara Simmons of Caddo; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
