Simmons, Mildred 

Mildred Simmons, 71, of Canyon, died Tuesday, April 28, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in University Church of Christ with 
David Lough, minister, and Brad Thompson, youth minister, officiating. 
Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors of 
Canyon.

Mrs. Simmons was born in Bailey, Okla. She graduated from Capitol Hill 
High School in Oklahoma City and attended Abilene Christian College and 
Western Texas Junior College.

She married Ray Simmons in 1947 at Abilene.

Mrs. Simmons had been a Canyon resident since 1979. She was a member of 
University Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Lonny Simmons of Seguin and Jonny 
Simmons of Canyon; two sisters, Clarita Bellberry and Juana Watson, both 
of Abilene; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to the High Plains Children's Home, P.O. 
Box 7448, Amarillo, Texas 79114-9990.
