All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery--San Antonio TX Thelma Mae Tirey Sumner Funeral services were held in Raymondville, Texas on Saturday, November 15, 2003 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Raymondville. Mrs. Sumner was born April 9, 1906, and passed away on November 12 in Retama Manor. She and her husband, LaVerne Sumner would have celebrated their 75th anniversary on December 26, 2003. They were longtime members of the Rush Springs community, where they owned and operated the Rexall drug store for 30 years. She is survived by her husband, LaVerne of Raymondville, Texas; one daughter, Jane and her husband Clarence Maher; five grandchildren, Thomas Maher of Miri, Malaysia, Mary Zachary, M. D. of New York City, Michael Maher, M.D. of Phoenix, Arizona, Jill and her husband Roy Lyles and Stephen Maher of Dallas, Texas; also seven grand great-grandchildren and one brother, Chris Tirey of Norman, Oklahoma. She was buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
