Juanita was born January 16, 1921 in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma to Edwin T. and Ida Jewel Nelson. She graduated from nursing school at Chickasha Hospital and also received an associate degree in Nursing. In 1943, she was married to Randall H. Sharpe of Chickasha, OK. After raising 5 children, she returned to nursing in 1970 and worked as an R.N. at Presbyterian Hospital. She later retired from Oklahoma's Children's Memorial Hospital in 1984. Upon retiring, she enjoyed traveling to see her son in Tennessee and spending winters in Florida with her daughter. Juanita loved to cook at home and always enjoyed having family and friends at her house. She is preceded in death by her parents Edwin T. and Ida Nelson, Richard Dean Nelson (brother), Howard Nelson Sharpe (son) and an infant daughter. She is survived by her brother, Edwin T. Nelson, Jr. and wife Doris of Oklahoma City; son Randy and wife Linda Sharpe of Oklahoma City; son Bruce and wife Jackie Sharpe of Oklahoma City; son Gary and wife Deborah Sharpe of Oak Ridge, TN; daughter Nita and husband Mark Kraver of Cape Coral, FL. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter, Christopher and wife Leah Sharpe of Austin, TX; Stephen and great granddaughter Ella Kate Sharpe of Oklahoma City, Phillip and wife Jenny Kraver of Gainesville, FL, Jackie Sharpe of Atlanta, GA, Sarah Sharpe of Stillwater, OK, Laura Kraver of Boynton Beach, FL, Rachel Sharpe of Tempe, AZ, James Kraver of Orlando, FL, and Donny Sharpe of Johnson City, TN. Donations can be made to Oklahoma Children's Memorial Hospital.
