All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Star 22 October 1970 TIPPETT SERVICES HELD Mrs. Mary Edith Tippett, of Verden, died in Grady Memorial Hospital Thursday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. She was born March 3, 1890 at Kern, Tex. A long time resident of Grady County, she came here 63 years ago and was married to Lee Tippett on Oct. 14, 1912 in Anadarko. He preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 1967. They were farmers and stockmen in the Verden area. Mrs. Tippett was a member of the First Baptist Church in Verden, and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 29. She had been in failing health for the past 6 years. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Debs Patterson of Verden and one brother, Roda Dayton of Chickasha. Funeral services were held Saturday in the First Baptist Church, Verden with Rev. Sam Anderson, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Cache, officiating, assisted by Rev. Paul Hampton of Verden. Music was provided by Mrs. Bert Heisler of Duncan, accompanied by Mrs. Don Brown at the piano. Active pallbearers were Will McVey, Garvin McComas, Paul DeBoard, F. J. Hardy, Elmer Kinke, and Alfred Walkee. Honorary pallbearers, Claude Roper, Albert Hakee, Wendell Briscoe, Ed Unruh, Kenneth Westland, Freeman Moore, Alvin Deason, Roy Evans, Roy Talkington, Cliff Morgan, Elmer Parr, Emmett Watson, Q. J. Smith and Henry Herr.
