Teague Grace B. Teague, 97, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Tuttle, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, after a long and courageous battle with health problems. Grace was born on a farm near Mustang in Indian Territory on Feb. 17, 1904. She was the oldest girl in a family of nine children. She attended school at Red HIll, West of Mustang, and then attended the first high school there. She also attended A & M Teachers College, which is now called University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. She married Sam A. Teague in 1926. They moved from the Oklahoma City area to Tuttle in 1929. They were blessed with two children, Jack and Darlene. They joined the Church of Christ in 1929. She loved to go to church. Grace was an avid gardner. Her home was a flower show place and was admired by many passerbys. She did most of her own gardening until she was 90 years of age. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Noah and Maude Anna (Darrow) Williford; her husband Sam, in 1971; her son Jack, in 1972; her daughter-in-law Oakley, in 1993; also four brothers and one sister. She is survived by: her daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Emery Dye of Tuttle; one brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Dorothy Williford of Mustang; two sisters, Delpha Rider of Simi Valley, California and Lillian Patterson of Norman; one grandson Ken and wife Suzi Dye of Oklahoma City; two granddaughters, Pam and husband Richard Manuel of Oklahoma City, and Karen and husband Tim Sechrist of Tuttle; one great grandson Kenneth Dye II; three great granddaughters, Rachel King of Oklahoma City, Ricci and Courtney Woody of Tuttle; and one great great grandson Joel of Oklahoma City. She was loving and kind to her entire family and will be forever missed. Her loved ones know she has gone to a better place where there is no more sorrow or pain. Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. Feb. 2, 2002 at the First Assembly of God Church in Tuttle, with Hubert Plumlee, her Church of Christ minister, and Emery Dye, her son-in-law officiating. Hurbert and Mary Plumlee were very special people to Grace and her family and they visited her faithfully. Interment was in Blanchard Cemetery next to her husband Sam and son Jack under the direction of Branstetter-Merritt Funeral Home.
