Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for purposes other than stated above must obtain the written consent of the file contributor. ====================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 15 February 2001 John Teders Funeral services for John Teders, 75, who died Monday, February 12, 2001, at Kingfisher Regional Hospital will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2001, at Sanders Funeral Chapel. Rev. Henry Reid and Rev. Rex Shores will officiate. Burial will be at Kingfisher Cemetery, Kingfisher, OK. John Teders was born to Julian and Anna (Mund) Teders on May 30, 1925, near Medford, Oklahoma. He attended elementary school in Omega, OK, and completed his high school education in Hitchcock, Oklahoma, where he graduated in 1943. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served 3 1/2 years in the Pacific Theater. He saw service as a rear turret gunner on an TBM Avenger Aircraft aboard the US Aircraft Carrier Cabot. After an honorable discharge in 1946, John worked at Tinker Field Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, several years. He farmed and ranched in the Omega-Loyal area and in southwestern Colorado. For many years John owned and operated a trucking business in Kingfisher, OK. In December of 1951, he married Betty Jane Meier of Hitchcock, OK. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane of the home; Janie Teders of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Mary Ann and husband Dr. Tom Essex of Chickasha, OK; two grandsons, John and Ryan Essex, Chickasha, OK; one sister, Leanida Bernhardt of Kingfisher; sisters-in-law Alta Teders of Kingfisher and Sylvia Brickman of Alva, OK, Goldie Oblander of Hennessey, OK, Charleyne Meier and Barbara Jo Meier of Hitchock, OK; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bernard Teders of Kingfisher. Funeral services are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service, Kingfisher, OK. Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Lung Research.
