Richard, the seventeen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Talkington, died 
on Thursday, April the 9th, after suffering severely for several months 
with heart disease, rheumatism and grip. Rev. Tippet preached the 
funeral services the following day and the body was put to rest in the 
cemetery south of town. His death has brought the bitter cup of sorrow 
to the lips of friends and relatives. He was an honest, upright young 
man, his was the soul of honor and his friends and friendships were 
sacred to him; but alas, the human link snapped asunder on earth is 
forged anew in heaven. The yearning parents mourn not as one without 
hope. It is true that when beautiful youth is gone not much of life 
remains; hence the dear one's eyes are closed to earthly trials. In his 
springtime of enthusiasm and tenderness, ere the sunshine of hope and 
joy was extinguished, he passed to the glorious beyond.
