Taylor was born June 22, 1934, and died July 25, 2003, in Oklahoma City. Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 28 July 2003 HOLLIS DALE TAYLOR Funeral service for Hollis Dale Taylor, age 69, of Alex, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in the Alex United Methodist Church. Rev. William Forrest will officiate, and Rev. Dan Brinkman will assist. Hollis Dale Taylor was born the son of E. E. Taylor and Beulah Bounds Taylor on June 22, 1934. He died on July 25, 2003, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dale grew up and attended school in Albany, Texas. He moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, where he began working in the oilfield. Dale later moved to Tatum, New Mexico, where he met Shirley Harris. They were married on June 23, 1956. Six months later he entered the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. After being discharged from the Army, he returned to New Mexico. Dale and Shirley later moved to Las Vegas, and he worked in concrete construction. Eventually, they moved back to Texas where Dale returned to working in the oilfield for Loffland Brothers Drilling. In 1970, they moved to Alex. Dale continued working for Loffland Brothers Drilling for seventeen years. He then worked for Mesa Petroleum as a drilling foreman until retiring in 1999. Dale was a member of the Alex United Methodist Church. He was dearly loved by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: wife: Shirley Taylor of Alex; daughter and husband: Latricia and Dan Brinkman of Dumas, Texas; three grandchildren: Adam, Cassie, and Brittni Brinkman of Dumas, Texas; son: Kenneth Dale Taylor of Chickasha; mother and mother-in-law: Travis and Era Harris of Alex; half- sister: Nancy Newson of San Antonio, Texas; half-brother: Jack Taylor of Euless, Texas. Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
