TIMS Funeral services for Fern H. Tims, 89, of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Fern H. Tims was born March 17, 1915, west of Duncan, Okla., and died on Sunday, June 13, 2004, in Chickasha. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 15 June 2004 FERN H. TIMS Funeral services for Fern H. Tims, 89, of Chickasha, will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with Larry Hatfield officiating. Fern H. Tims was born on March 17, 1915, in Duncan, Oklahoma, the daughter of Amos Hastings and Rena Stephens Hastings. She died Sunday, June 13, 2004, in Chickasha. Fern came to the Amber area as a young child. She attended and graduated from Amber Public Schools. She then continued her education at OCW and Oklahoma Uniersity, where she obtained her master's degree in education. She taught school in Amber, Pioneer, Verden, Pocasset, and Chickasha, until her retirement in 1978. Fern married Jack Tims on August 3, 1941, in Amber, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and CWF. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Tims, both parents, and two sisters; Prebble McCalla, and LaVon (Sal) Hastings. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law; Tim and Denise Tims of Chickasha, and Bill and Carol Tims of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one sister, Joy Cook, of Chickasha; and one brother and sister-in-law, J. W. and Winifred Hastings, of Amber; seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
