Thomas, 83, will be held Friday September 9, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 101 East Dakota Ave., Chickasha, OK. Reverend Eugene C. McCarrell Pastor, and Reverend Al Walters minister, officiating. Andrew was born August 16, 1922 in Franklin, TX. He passed away on Saturday, September 3, in Chickasha, OK. Interment will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Brown/Christian Funeral Home. ========= The Chickasha Express-Star Thursday, 8 September 2005 ANDREW LEE THOMAS Funeral services for Andrew L. Andrew Lee Thomas was the 3rd of 6 children born unto the late Lee and Addie May Thomas. At an early aga, Andrew's family moved to Chickasha, OK. He united with New Hope Baptist Church under the pastorship of Reverend T. F. Fisher. He was a faithful member to the Church. He served the Church as a Deacon until his health started to fail in 2001. Andrew received his early education at Lincoln School in Chickasha, OK. After leaving school, he joined the U.S. Army in 1943; serving during World War II. Andrew was discharges in 1946 and returned to Chickasha, OK. Andrew Thomas united in holy matrimony with Corene Richardson on June 15, 1946. Unto this union 4 children were born: Sharon, Doris, Linda and Archie. In 1946 he began a career as a short order cook in several locations, to name a few: The White Dock Cafe, Kings Inn, Roys Barbecue. He later worked in the manufacturing industry where he was employed at Lawrence Trailers and Pet Milk, Inc. until 1991. After retiring from public employment, he enjoyed working outside in his garden, raising animals. He especially enjoyed his great grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving wife of 59 years, Corene Thomas. Three daughters: Sharon Thomas of Chickasha, OK; Doris Ross of Hempstead, NY, Linda Thomas of Oklahoma City, OK. One son, Archie (Patricia) Thomas, Sr. of Chickasha, OK. One Sister: Lucille (OD) Darrington of Chickasha, OK; and one brother: Peachy Paul (Carol) Thomas of Klammath Falls, OR, 11 grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. A host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
