All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Fairlawn Cemetery--Chickasha OK The Chickasha Express-Star Friday, 16 December 2005 & Sunday, 18 December 2005 JOHNNIE MELVIN TRAMMELL Funeral service for Johnnie Melvin Trammell age 87 of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday December 17, 2005 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Johnnie Melvin Trammell was born January 17,1918 at Fletcher, Oklahoma. He was the son of George Washington Trammell and Minnie May Compton. He died Thursday December 15, 2005 in Chickasha. Mr. Trammell was raised east of Ninnekah by the Gumbo Lake. He attended Vaughn School. At the age of 16 he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. (CCC) where he lived and worked from 1934 until 1937. From 1937 until he was drafted into the US Army in 1942 he did construction work in various places including California, Texas and Oklahoma. He served in the US Army for 3 years and 9 months during World War II. He was in the 13th Field Artillery battery B in the 24th Division. He made 5 beach landings, 2 in New Guinea and 3 in the Philippines. He was discharged in 1945 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He met Earline McMasters of Chickasha on her birthday Christmas Day 1945. They married August 9, 1946 in Chickasha. He owned and operated Trammell Construction from 1946 until his retirement in 1982. He had a passion for quail hunting, enjoyed camping, boating and family trips. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: His wife Earline Trammell of the home in Chickasha; One daughter: Brenda Ryans and husband Wesley, of Ninnekah; Two sons: Johnny Trammell and wife Debbie of Chickasha; Mark Trammell of Chickasha; One brother: Marvin Trammell of Alamo, Texas; One sister: Geraldine Harding of Ohio; Two grandsons: Josh Ryans and wife Jessica of Ninnekah; and Jordan Ryans; One great grandson Jace Ayden Ryans.
