Turner Funeral service for Margaret L. Turner, 88, of Durant, will be held Thursday, September 21, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Durant with Rev. Darel Bunch and Bro. Buck Moore officiating. Margaret Turner was born November 18, 1911 in Verden to William Christian Longenecker and Pearl (Sigmon) Longenecker-Huller and died Monday, September 18, 2000 in the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma, Durant. She lived in Duncan for many years and came to Bryan County in 1976. She was a home maker and was of the Methodist Faith. Margaret received a college degree from Central State in Edmond, Oklahoma. She taught school for 35 years, 33 of which were in Comanche, Duncan and Putnam City. She retired in 1976. On December 22, 1939 she married Frank D. Turner in St. Charles, Missouri. She was preceded in death by parents: William Christian and Pearl (Sigmon) Longenecker-Hullett, husband: Frank D. Turner on February 6, 1988, daughter: Carolyn Jean Bucklin on May 14, 1987, infant brother: Earl, sister: Opal in 1989. Survivors include: grandson: Kevin Farr and wife Katrina of Mead ; grandson: Brian Bucklin of Dallas, Texas; great granddaughter: Kaitlyn Farr of Mead; niece: Ann Thompson and husband Doug of Midwest City, nephew: Bob Emrich and wife Carol of Midwest City; nephew: Mike Emrich and wife Sandy of Midwest City; niece: Susan Johnson and husband Darrell of Wagoner; niece: Diane File of Oklahoma City; niece: Brenda Perry of Oklahoma City; niece: Lynn Butler and husband Allen of Silver Cliffs, Colorado and sister-in-law: Neva Emrich of Midwest City. Pallbearers: David Brese, Chris Earles, Jason Grider, Lance Luke, Sam Rodriquez and Bob Sullins. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. in the Duncan Cemetery.
