Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel of Fort Worth. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Memorials: Benevolence Room, Travis Avenue Baptist Church. Bess was born April 25, 1909, in Dewey County, Okla. She was raised in Chickasha, Okla. and attended school and college there. She taught business subjects in high school in Oklahoma. She taught in Fort Worth ISD at Trimble Technical High School for 27 years and was also a teacher of 9-year-old girls at Travis Avenue Baptist Church. She married H. Allen Vaughan, a Texan, Nov. 29, 1934. Bess was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years; and son, Robert A. Vaughan. Survivors: Daughter, Martha Ann Vaughan Burns; daughter-in-law, Nancy Vaughan; grandchildren, Ricky Burns and wife, Sharon, Windi Williams, Judi Daniel and husband, Mitch, Angie Scott and husband, Tim, Paula Martin and husband, Drew, Julie Vaughan and husband, David; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
