All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 13 April 2005 Vinyard, Bobby Bryan Funeral services for Bobby Bryan Vinyard, 83, of Chickasha, will be held Friday, April 15, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at the First Christian Church, in Chickasha, with Johnny Wray officiating and James Cotton assisting. Bobby Bryan Vinyard was born June 3, 1921, in Verden, Oklahoma, the son of Robert Ray Vinyard and Pauline Woolery Vinyard. He died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at his home in Chickasha. Bobby attended school in Verden and Chickasha. He graduated from Verden High School in 1939. He attended Oklahoma University for one year before being called into the military service's 45th Infantry Division. He went to offices Candidate School in Ft. Belvaire, Virginia, where he was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant and was stationed at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, with the 83rd Division. He served 18 months in the European theater, where he received the rank of Captain and was awarded the Bronze star. He married Doris Robertson on July 22, 1942, in Columbus, Indiana. After his military discharge, he worked for Washington National Insurance Company, Southwest Company of Dallas, Wylie Stewart Company, of Oklahoma City, International Harvesting Company, and Spurlin Sales. He later started his own corporation, Central Oklahoma Equipment Corporation, serving as president and general manager, until his retirement. Bobby was baptized at age 16, and joined the Christian Church of Verden. He later served as an elder at Northwest Christian Church in Oklahoma City and First Christian Church of Chickasha. He was preceded in death by both parents, one son, Robert Keith Vinyard, one granddaughter, Kimberly Kay Coleman, and one great grandson, R. J. Coleman. He is survived by his wife Doris, of the home, two sons and daughters-in- law; Kent and Pat Vinyard, of Norman, David and Meg Vinyard, of Mustang; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Chuck Adams, of Piedmont, one brother, Joe Vinyard, nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Resurrection Memoial Cemetery, at 3:30 p.m., located at 7801 N.W.
