All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Council Hill Cemetery--Council HIll OK Bob Voigt, 84 year old Council Hill resident passed from this life Thursday, March 5, 2009, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on June 21, 1924 to Eddie and Bertha (Davis) Voigt in Minco, OK. He was an industrial engineer retiring from Royal Vista. Bob served his country during WWII in the Pacific Theatre in the US Navy. As well as a industrial engineer, he was also a farmer and rancher. Bob was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Checotah, having been a Deacon, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Alma Voigt, in September 2007; his parents, two brothers, Merl and Alvin Voigt, one sister, Edwina Goff, 3 grandchildren, twins Breanna Lee and David Jr. White, and Angela McDow.He is survived by 2 daughters, Sherry McDow of Texas and Patrice White of Council Hill; brothers Claude Voigt and Donald Voigt both of Council Hill and one sister, Betty Duty of Oklahoma City, 5 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Council Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Jerry Southern officiating.Arrangements are under the direction of the Hampton Mortuary, Checotah 918-473-6821.
