All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 7 February January 2005 MARY GERTRUDE WEST Mary Gertrude West, 69, of Athens, Georgia, passed away Friday, February 4, 2005. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, she lived in Chickasha, Oklahoma where she retired with 26 years service from Arvin Meritor. After moving to Athens in 1999, she was employed by Chick-fil-A, where she was known as Miss Mary. She was a member of Milledge Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Della Thigpen Hardeman, and her twin sons, Ronnie and Johnny West. Survivors include four sisters, May Lathern, Orlando, FL, Jane Gentry, Midfield, AL, and Janice Dockins, Temple, GA; three brothers, Lewis E. Hardeman, Round Lake, IL, Billy Hardeman, Guntersville, AL, Wilson Hardeman, Hueytown, AL; four sons and their spouses, Steve and Liz West, Lawrenceville, GA, Randy and Ann West, Athens, GA, Shannon and Cindy West, Commerce, GA, Layne and Lisa West, Athens, GA; seven granddaughters and six grandsons. The family received friends Sunday, February 6, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Bernstein Funeral Home. On Monday, February 7, a memorial service was held at Milledge Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Prior to the service, family received friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at 1684 Barnett Shoals Road., Athens, GA 30605. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society.
