MARGARET D. WASSON Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret D. Wasson were held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the First Methodist Church with the Rev. A. B. Hickman, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Harry Dodson, Mr. W. A. Finley, Mrs. Chester Heavin and Mrs. Dale Henricks, accompanied by Mrs. Donald Brown at the piano, sang "How Great Thou Art," "Precious Memories" and "Beautiful Isle." Pallbearers were Houston Beene, Paul DeBoard, Eldridge Smith, Dank Pitts, Will McVey and Floyd Simmons. Interment was in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of Hansen Funeral Home. Mrs. Wasson was born June 30, 1876 in Springville, Ala. She was married to John C. Wasson March 3, 1895 in Stephens County, Texas and they moved to Oklahoma in 1900. He and four children preceded her in death. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She died June 21, 1966 at the Shannon Springs Rest Home. She is survived by two sons, Roy Wasson of Verden and Henry Wasson of Santee, Calif., four daughters, Mrs. Addie Mills of Chickasha, Mrs. Sybil Wagner of Santa Rosa, Calif., Mrs. Christine Wilson of Lakeside, Calif., and Mrs. Kathryn Watson of El Cajon, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
