Dorothy Melvina White was born May 3, 1931, in Verden, Oklahoma. She died March 5, 2003, in Oklahoma City. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 6 March 2003 DOROTHY MELVINA WHITE Funeral services for Dorothy Melvina White, 71, of Chickasha, will be held Friday, March 7, 2003, at 1 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha. Dorothy Melvina White was born May 3, 1931, in Verden, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ben White and Lou Conn White. She died March 5, 2003, in Oklahoma City. Dorothy grew up in Verden, Oklahoma, and graduated from Verden High School in 1949. She then moved to Oklahoma City and was employed with a nursing home. Later she attended LPN school for two years and became an LPN. In 1972, she moved to Chickasha and was employed with Grady Memorial Hospital. She worked there until her retirement in 1993. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and spending time at the lake. Dorothy was a Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by Both parents, four brothers, and one sister. Survivors include: One son: Terry White and his fiancee Katie Church, of Chickasha; one daughter: Susan White of Chickasha; One Son: Chris White of Lawton, Oklahoma; one brother: Bedford White of Cement, Oklahoma; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Kenneth and Yvonne White of Cement, Oklahoma and George and Mary White of Hinton, Oklahoma; two sisters: Ruby Holmes and Gertrude Cooper of Cement, Oklahoma; one sister and brother-in-law: Carol and Carl Settle of Carmen, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren: Tracy Ladwig, Megan White, Mark White, Nina White, Sarah White, Travis White, and Chris White: and several great grandchildren.
