Wood, Darlene Our cherished Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and friend Darlene Wood is now celebrating with the Lord. She passed away at her home and into her new life on Sat. April 10, 2004 surrounded by her beloved husband of 48 years Bud, her daughters and their families and her most precious twin sister and best friend Marlene. What a glorious time she must be having! We can only imagine. Darlene was loved so much and gave her love fully to everyone she met without question or reservation. Our most cherished memories of her are her famous fried chicken, chocolate sheet cakes, her beautiful flower gardens, and most of all, her sparkling eyes and the warmth of her huge hugs. Darlene was born June 26, 1937 in Minco, OK. She was preceded in death by her Mother and Step Father Mr. & Mrs. John Howard. Darlene is survived by her Husband Larry 'Bud' Wood; four daughters and their families, Renee & Scott Hartman, John Ross, Andrew, Preston and Autumn, Robyn & Rick Arnold, Ricky, Robert and Ryan, Kim and Bob Sullivan, Abbey and Carter, Lori & Neil Spell. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother, Marlene Allen, Louise Johnson, Janie Kennada and Gene Darcey as well as many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Moms caregiver Valinda Hutcheson who so graciously took care of her this past year. Services will be held to celebrate Darlene's life on Wednesday, April 14 at Vondel Smith South at 1:00 with burial services at Union City Cemetery in Union City at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Darlene had requested that donations be made to Heartland Community Church Building Fund.
