All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Etta Frances Wood November 22, 1925 ~ August 7, 2004 Etta Frances Wood passed away on August 7, 2004 at the age of 74. She was born November 22, 1925 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Fred and Katie Baker. Etta graduated from Cox City High School. She married Clyde Wood on May 3, 1943 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Mrs. Wood taught school at Pikes Peak, Sandy Grove, and Cox City. She was active in the First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school. She retired as owner of the Trend Motel. Etta is preceded in death by her son, Joe E. Wood; a grandson, John Fulton Wood; three sisters, Ida Baker, Maxine Anderson, and Lena Wood. She is also preceded by two brothers, William Baker and J. R. Baker. She is survived by her husband Clyde Lee Wood, her daughter, Mary Wilson of Iowa Park, Texas; two granddaughters, Beth Sweet of Wichita Falls and Kristi Neal of Houston, Texas; two grandsons, Matt Wilson and Corey Wilson of Iowa Park, Texas. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Preston and Kate Neal, and Madison Sweet. Services for Etta Wood will be held at the First Baptist Church, Lindsay, Oklahoma on Tuesday, August 19, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, Oklahoma. Words of comfort will be provided by Rev. Bill Love and Rev. Randy Allen. Memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Children’s Home or to the Hospice of Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of B. G. Boydston Funeral Home in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
