Phyllis Elaine "Rosie" Watson was born on June 13, 1931, in Carnegie, Okla., and she died on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, in Chickasha, Okla. Services will be under the direction of the McRay's Verden Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 28 September 2003 PHYLLIS ELAINE (ROSIE) WATSON Funeral service for Phyllis Elaine (Rosie) Watson, age 72 of Verden, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2003, in the First Baptist Church of Verden. Rev. Edward Whitley will officiate. Assisting will be Rev. Marvin Delaware, Rev. Jay Driskill, and Rev. Johnny Wray. Phyllis Elaine (Rosie) Watson was born the daughter of George Polly and Faye Gorden Polly on June 13, 1931, in Carnegie, Oklahoma. She died on September 25, 2003, in Chickasha. Elaine grew up in the Anadarko area and married Ray Watson on June 7, 1952. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2002 with a gathering of family and friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Verden, where she provided and designed floral decorations for many occasions and was well known for her decorated Christmas trees. Elaine was a lady of many talents. She was an excellent seamstress and provided many a newlywed with her crocheted afghans. Elaine had a great love of painting and was an award winning artist. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bob Polly, and grandson, Hayes Bradley Watson. Survivors include: Husband: Ray Watson of the home; daughter: Susan McClellan of Anadarko; son & daughter-in-law: Kevin & Lora Watson of Concordia, Kansas; granddaughter: Alex Watson of Concordia, Kansas; three brothers: Wayne, Jim, & Dick Polly & their families; two sisters: Margaret Tatum & Louanna "Cricket" Watts & their families; two sisters-in- law: Virgene Polly & Margaret Watson McDowell; numerous family members & friends. Caregivers & special friends: Candy Hamilton McGhghy, Linda Bell, Regina Bell, Ann Roberts, Ruth Whitley, Janet Merritt, Nancy Eads, & Lois McCarty. Interment will be in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. Service will be under the direction of the McRay's Verden Funeral Home.
