All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Green Hill Cemetery--Lindsay OK B G Boydston Funeral Home Lindsay OK Mike Hedrick Wolf December 26, 1920 - August 26, 2005 Mike Hedrick Wolf, age 84, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, August 26, 2005. He was born on December 26,1920, to Ada Brown Wolf and Mike Hedrick Wolf, Sr., in Okemah, OK. He was a graduate of Okemah schools, where he enlisted into Company D, 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Division of the Oklahoma National Guard on March 14, 1938. On August 31, 1940, he reported to Fort Sill, OK where the division was an instrumental part in establishing the facilities. On December 11, 1941 he enlisted in the Army Air Corp and received courses in physics, mathematics, geography, history first aid and 10 hours flight instruction with Aeronca aircraft. He also qualified as marksman in carbine. He trained at Chanute Field, IL., for mechanic and repaired B-17's going to England. He served in the Air Offensive Japan, China, Central Burma, India-Burma and Air Combat Palembang campaigns with the 769th Bomb Squadron, 462nd Bomb Group of the 20th Air Force. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon with 5 Bronze Stars and Distinguished Unit Badge. He returned from Tinian to Sacramento, CA on October 9, 1945 and formally discharged from Tucson, AZ.on October 18, 1945. In 1951 he was joined in marriage to Ina Louise Thompson. He was employed as an engine room operator at the Phillips Petroleum Gasoline Plant, located in Bradley, OK, for 27 years. He was preceeded in death by his parents; wife Louise of 48 years; 2 brothers; 3 sisters and step-son Bo Robbins of Earlsboro, OK. He is survived by his 2 daughters; Juhree Robberson and husband Jim of Wynnewood; Michelle Hannon and husband Jeff of Hattiesburg, MS; and step-daughter Susie Mercer and husband Larry of Midland, TX. One sister Geraldine Carter of Lewisville, TX; one brother-in-law Edwin Thompson and wife Gerlinde of Norman, OK. Grandchildren Guy M. Robberson and wife Mindy of Washington, OK; Grant Robberson and fiance' Gwen of Minneapolis, MN; Paige Robberson of Norman, OK; Kevin Oldham; Kristin Kelly and husband James all of Lindsay,OK; Mica Hyatt and husband Eric of Maysville,OK; step-grandchildren Shelly Chandler and husband Randy; James Moutaw and wife Jana all of Lindsay, OK; and Sena Hart of Norman, OK. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren. We will cherish the military history he never spoke of, his love and appreciation of the outdoors and for his champion vegetable gardens. We will hold dear his greatest asset and gift to us all, his unfailing sense of humor. Funeral services for Mike will be held on August 30, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Boydston Funeral Home Chapel. Interement will be at the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, Oklahoma.
