All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Westview Cemetery--Rush Springs OK Darrell Henry Willis Duncan Banner, Wed., Dec. 7, 2005 Rush Springs - Darrell Henry Willis, 61, of Rush Springs, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, in his home east of Rush Springs. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Vimy Ridge Baptist Church in Rush Springs with David Hale officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Rush Springs, under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel. Darrell was born Monday, March 13, 1944, in Rush Springs to H.B. (Heck) and Esta (Adams) Willis. Darrell graduated from Rush Springs High School in 1962. He lived in and around Rush Springs all of his life. Darrell and Frieda (Thompson) Willis were married in Wichita Falls, Texas and lived in the Rush Springs area for 26 years. He was a full time rancher, raising horses, cattle and border collies. Darrell retired after serving for over 20 years in law enforcement. He served as Under Sheriff under Ron Taylor and Stan Florence. He had a love of antique cars. Darrell was a member of the American Legion, American Quarter Horse Assoc, the American Paint Horse Association and the National Cutting Horse Association. Darrell attended the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church in Rush Springs. Survivors include his wife Frieda Willis of the home; numerous nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews; and a host of loved ones and friends. Bearers will be Billy Evans, Robert Van Fleet, Jerome Jones, Jeff McQuire, James Byrd, Charles Adams, Ron McKinney and Creek McAdams.
