July 3, 2003, at First Baptist Church of Verden. Johnny Leonard Wilson was born Nov. 20, 1934, and died on Tuesday, July 1, 2003. Burial will be in Verden Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 2 July 2003 JOHNNY LEONARD WILSON Funeral service for Johnny Leonard Wilson, 68, of Verden, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2003, at the First Baptist Church of Verden. Johnny Leonard Wilson was born November 20, 1934, in Bridgeport, Oklahoma, the son of James Calvin and Essie Belle (Mayhand) Wilson, and died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, in Oklahoma City. Mr. Wilson worked for Fold and Carrier Shopping Carts in Oklahoma City and Humpty Dumpty Grocery Store. He moved to Verden in 1973 and worked for Humpty Dumpty Grocery in Chickasha. He worked for Humpty Dumpty Grocery for almost 20 years. He worked for Hodges Grocery in Chickasha until 1975. He owned and operated Wilson's Grocery in Verden until 1985. Mr. Wilson worked for Lightner's Food for 20 years. Mr. Wilson served during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Frances Jane Wilson; parents; 2 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include: 3 sons and their wives; Tommy and Diane Wilson of Chickasha, Johnny and Debbe Wilson of Alex, Philip and LaDana Wilson of Verden; 2 daughters and their husbands: Cheri and Gary Mullins of Verden, Jeannie and Devon Douglas of Chickasha; 4 brothers: Calvin Wilson, Alvin Wilson, Albert Wilson, George Wilson; 3 sisters: Ruby Lee Linn, Loise Tipton, Lillian Wilson; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
