Wilson was born August 16, 1941 and died May 15, 2004 in Chickasha. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 17 May 2004 DON G. WILSON Graveside funeral service for Don G. Wilson, 62, of Chickasha, will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. in the Pioneer Cemetery, with Bill Nunley officiating. Don G. Wilson was born August 16, 1941, in Olustee, Oklahoma, the son of Troy O. Wilson and Thelma L. (Vann) Wilson. He died Saturday, May 15, 2004, at his home in Blanchard. Don grew up and attended High School in Durham, Oklahoma. His junior year in high school he married Betty Smith in Stinnett, Texas, on May 23, 1958. Don and Betty moved to Chickasha in 1972. He was employed with Chickasha Public Schools and Southern Tanks until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and gardener. He was also well known for his plum jelly, always sharing with his friends and family. Don loved to spend time with family, his grandchildren and great grandchild. He was a member of the Cornerstone Church. Don was preceded in death by both parents and one grandson, Keith Graham. Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; two sons and daughters-in- law, Gary and Darla Wilson of Verden, and Troy and Holly Wilson of Chickasha; two granddaughters and spouse, Donna and Steven Herndon of Marlow, and Dakotah Wilson of Chickasha; one great grandson, Jarrod Herndon of Marlow; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dewilla and Dale Holden of Chickasha, Pam and Tommy Smith of Kansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Diane Wilson of Sterling, Colorado; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
