WILLIAMS Funeral services for Zennie Lorenzo "Jr." WIlliams, 73, of Chickasha, Okla., are pending with Ferguson Funeral Home. Zennie L. "Jr." Williams was born May 23, 1930, and died Friday, July 4, 2003, in Oklahoma City. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 7 July 2003 ZENNIE L. "JR." WILLIAMS Funeral services for Zennie Lorenzo "Jr." Williams, 73, of Chickasha, will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. in the First Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Paul Knight officiating and Pastor Larry Hatfield assisting. Zennie Williams was born May 23, 1930, in Alex, Oklahoma, son of Zennie L. Williams and Emily Rose Smith Williams. He died Friday, July 4, 2003, in Oklahoma City. Jr. moved to Ninnekah as a child with his family where he grew up and attended Ninnekah Public Schools. Jr. went to work in the oil fields as a young man and later served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Betty Williams in 1951, in Wichita Falls, Texas and to this union three if his daughters were born, Brenda, Debbie and Pam Jr. continued working in the oil fields and became acquainted with all the facets of the business. He later married Mary June Smith in 1962, in Wichita Falls, Texas and to the union his daughter Mary Beth was born. Jr. had also been employed as a truck driver having worked for Fat Trucking out of California and American Farm Line out of Oklahoma City. He later returned to the oil fields and became a mud logging contractor, where he retired in 1987. Jr. married Jackie Rose Boyd on November 3, 1978. Jr. loved music and played most of the instruments. His favorite was the guitar. Jr. formed the Crystal River Band and the Gospel Tones, both gospel singing quartets. He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Charles and Wayne Williams and one sister, Selma Williams. Survivors include his wife: Jackie of the home; four daughters and sons- in-law: Brenda Williams, Debby and Pete Harvey and Pam Williams, all of Wichita Falls, Texas, Mary Beth and Billy Tennison of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; three stepsons and daughters-in-law: William and Sally Maybery, Dennis and Connie Boyd, David Randell Boyd, all of Chickasha; one stepdaughter and son-in-law: Mary Ann and Bob May of Anadarko; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Ruby Wright, Florene and John Elton Cofer, of Ninnekah, Virginia Poag, of Chickasha; one brother and sister-in-law, Sammy Elroy and Carolyn Williams, of Pampa, Texas; nine grandchildren, eleven step- grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; four great great step- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
