WILLIAMS SERVICES HELD AT BAPTIST CHURCH Funeral services for Isaac E. Williams were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11 at the First Baptist Church. Rev. C. W. Taylor officiated with Rev. Kenneth Elkins, pastor, and Rev. Lewis J. Morse assisting him. Music was furnished by Miss Sue Ann Finley, Miss Marilyn Heavin, Miss Nancy Brice and Mrs. Donald Brown who sang "Beyond the Sunset," "Beautiful River" and "We Are going Down the Valley." Mrs. Herschel Melton accompanied them on the piano. Casket bearers were Kirby Whitley, John Kern, J. C. Hawkins, Jeff Satterwhite, Martin Henry and Albert Henry. Interment was in the Verden Cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Williams was born March 17, 1865 at Dunlap, Tenn. and passed away at Verden, January 8, 1953 at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 21 days. He was married in 1884 and he moved his family to Texas in 1894 and to this vicinity in 1896. His wife preceded him in death in 1912. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons: Charles of Sun Valley, Calif. John and Elmer of Neosho, Mo., one daughter, Mrs. Dea Wiley of Anadarko; two brothers, Bill Williams of Miami, Okla., and Alex Williams of Verden; one sister, Mrs. Esther Solomon of Tulsa and a host of other relatives and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
