Leon Harlin Winter Funeral services for Leon Harlin Winter, 66, of 204 Sunnylane, Chickasha, will be held at 3:30 pm, Thursday, October 13,1983, at The First Baptist Church of Chickasha. Rev. Mart Hardin, pastor will be officiating. Mr. Winter was born December 5, 1916 in Caddo County Oklahoma and died Monday October 10, 1983 in a local nursing home. He and Dorothy Caldwell were married July 24, 1940 in Verden, Oklahoma. Mr. Winter came to Chickasha in 1948 and had lived here since that time. He worked for the First National Bank and was administrator for Shannon Springs Nursing Home for 17 years. He retired in April due to his health. Mr.Winter was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chickasha, a World War II veteran serving in the Marines. He served as commander of the American Legion in 1965. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of the home; one son, Jim Winter, of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Anna Ritchie of Stillwell and Charla Carlson of Garland, Texas; one brother, Lewis Winter of West Virginia; one stepsister, Helen Steinley of Durant and four grandchildren. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha.
