DOROTHY WINTER Funeral for Dorothy Winter is pending with Sevier Funeral Home. She was born on June 27, 1917, in Verden, and died on Sunday, July 6, 1986 in Chickasha. Mrs. Winter had lived in Grady county all of her life. She and Leon Winter were married on July 24, 1940 in Verden. Mrs. Winter was a registered nurse, receiving her nursing training at Clinton. She worked at Carnegie Hospital and later worked at Dr. Wallace Ohls Hospital, Chickasha Hospital, in the office of Dr. Wesley Davis, and was director of nursing at Shannon Springs Residence Nursing Center, retiring seven years ago.. Mrs. Winter was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Oklahoma Nursing Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Winter, on October 10, 1983. She is survived by two daughters, Ann Ritchie of Stilwell, and Charla Carlson of Plano, Texas; one son, Staff Sgt James Winter of Midwest City; one brother, Russell Caldwell of Duncan; her mother, Emma Caldwell of Chickasha and four grandchildren.
