Mr. Ward died Wednesday March 6, 2002. Burial will be under the direction of the Robbins Cement Chapel, Cement, Oklahoma. A family and friends dinner will be held at noon Monday in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, Cement. Harold Benjamin Ward was born April 3, 1918 in Cement, Oklahoma, son of Charles Floyd Ward and Mary Catherine Rogers Ward. He married Phyllis Francis Moser July 5, 1937. Harold worked in the family business until the outbreak of World War II. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the South Pacific. Following the war he took advantage of the GI Bill and attended Oklahoma State University graduating in 1952 with bachelor's and master's degrees in soils. After graduation he went to work for the Bureau of Reclamation and moved his family to Riverton, Wyoming. Between 1954 and 1956 he led the land classification unit for the Yellowtail Dam site while living in Hardin, Montana. He continued working for the Bureau of Reclamation in Cody, Wyoming, Townsend, Mt., Great Falls, MT., and finally in Billings, MT., where he retired in 1978. Harold had a passion for life, flowers, gold, hunting and fishing. Survivors include: his wife: Phyllis M. Ward, of the home; 5 children: Charles and Sharon Ward, of Centralia, Washington, Wayne and Beverly Ward, of Thermopolis, Wyoming, Jim Ward, of Great Falls, Montana, Steve and Sherry Ward, of Great Falls, Montana, Sue and Tom Zack, of Keller, Texas; sister: Gee and Floyd Norton, of Anadarko, Oklahoma; brother: Kyle and Mary Ward, of Duncan, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
