All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 1 October 2003 PHYLLIS FRANCIS "TOOTIE" WARD Graveside services for Phyllis Francis "Tootie" Ward, 83, former Cement resident, will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 2, 2003, at the Cement Cemetery, Cement, Oklahoma with Rev. Billy Ward, officiating. Mrs. Ward died Thursday, September 25, 2003, in Keller, Texas. Burial will be under the direction of Robbins Cement Chapel, Cement, Oklahoma. Mrs. Ward was born October 12, 1919, in Cyril, Oklahoma to Barney and Rose "Orf" Moser. She married Harold Benjamin Ward on July 5, 1937, and Celebrated 65 years of marriage together. She lived on a farm, attending Caddo Pride School until 5th grade then attended and graduated from Cyril High School. Phyllis was a life long homemaker who enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, ceramics, knitting, embroidery, sewing, crocheting, quilting, camping, fishing, and hunting. She was well known for her various pickle recipes which she fondly named, Circle P's, Weird Albert's, Garlic Surprise, and Everlasting Hot Ones. She was also well respected for her pickled jalapeņos. Phyllis was associated with Rebekah's Lodge and an active member of the Baptist Church. She was an avid card player who delighted in competition with Harold and "losing" gracefully to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A family and friends dinner will be held at noon Thursday in Cement's First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Survivors include: 5 children: Charles Ward and wife Sharon, Centralia, Washington; Wayne Ward and wife Beverly, Thermopolis, Wyoming; Jim Ward, Great Falls, Montana; Steve Ward and wife Sherry, Great Falls, Montana; Sue Zack and husband Tom, Keller, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold B.
