Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for purposes other than stated above must obtain the written consent of the file contributor. ====================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 13 September 2000 Sidney Clovis Worden Funeral service for Sidney Clovis Worden, 87, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2000 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Sid Worden was born June 22, 1913 in the Lindsay Community, the second child of Charley Leonard Worden and Lela Jane Gay Worden. He passed away Monday, September 11, 2000 at Chickasha, Oklahoma, following a lengthy illness. Sid grew up on the Worden farm between Bradley and Alex. He attended school in Bradley, graduating in 1933. He enjoyed playing basketball and being on the debate team. He married Frankie Belle Blakely in 1933, and they established a home on a farm north of Bradley and had four sons. During World War II, he worked at the stockyards in Oklahoma City for a time. The Wordens moved to Ninnekah in 1955 where Frankie passed away of cancer in 1956. On March, 1968 Sid married Jeanette Stamper Christian at Wichita Falls, Texas, and they resided on the farm southwest of Ninnekah, raising wheat, alfalfa and cattle until his death. Sid was a member of the Alex Methodist Church, the Grady County Farm Bureau, Grady County Alfalfa Association, Grady County Cattlemen,s Association, Ninnekah FCE and a 4-H volunteer. Sid and Jeanette were honored as Ninnekah Heritage Day's outstanding Citizens of the Year in 1998. He was preceded in death by: parents; 2 brothers: Herman and Charles Worden; baby sister: Imogene Worden. Survivors include: wife: Jeanette Worden of the home; sons and daughters-in-law: Donald Ray and Charlene Worden of Mesa, Arizona, Richard Allen and Linda Worden of Marysville, Ohio, John Burse and Carol Worden of Yukon, Oklahoma, Larry Dale Worden of Noble, Oklahoma, Robert Joe Worden of Rockford, Illinois, Randy Doyle Christian of Antioch, California; daughter: Rebecca Bates of Lawton, Oklahoma; brother and sister-in-law: John S. ‘Buster, and Elsie Worden of Purcell, Oklahoma; sister and brother-in-law: Eris Mozelle and Don Oldham of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 2 brothers-in-law and wives: Woody Bryan and Lynette Stamper of Houston, Texas, Johnny Dale and Cherie Stamper of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 1 sister-in-law and husband: Vivian and Harlin Peters of Eldora, Iowa; 14 grandchildren: Johnny B., Kenneth Sid, Matthew, James and Mark Worden, Donese Mumford, Kathy Livesay, Renee Sawyer, Sheila Geringer, Brandi Woods, Lori Weber, Deanna Spillers, Amy Van Leer and Shannon Bates; 12 great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Bradley Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funera l Home. The family will be receiving family and friends at Sevier Funeral Home 7-8 p.m., Wednesday.
