October 2003 ELBERT & GEORGIA [HARDESTY] BAZHAW BAZHAWS TO CELEBRATE 60TH ANNIVERSARY Georgia (Hardesty) and Elbert Bazhaw were wed on October 10, 1943, in Oklahoma City and will celebrate sixty years of marriage with a reception on Saturday, October 11, 2003, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tuttle Roundup Club, 103 East Main Street, Tuttle, Oklahoma. Shortly after their honeymoon, Elbert shipped off to England to ride B-17 bombers and Georgia continued with her nursing education at Wesley School of Nursing. Georgia graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1944 and worked as a surgical nurse at Wesley Hospital (later Presbyterian Hospital). Except for a brief time working at Chickasha Hospital, Georgia spent her 43 year career at Wesley. Elbert returned from World War II and they began farming in the flats of Norman, Oklahoma. Their daughter, Pat, was born in 1946 while they were at Norman. They moved closer to home on a farm near the Canadian River and a second daughter, Jo, arrived. In January of 1952, they moved to their present home on Cimarron Road north of Tuttle and Elbert opened a tractor repair shop in Tuttle. Georgia and Elbert are blessed with two grandchldren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of friends and acquaintances. They would be honored by your presence, memories, and maybe a picture or two but request no gifts. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
