All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 15 February 2004 GENE & ANNA DOUGLAS DOUGLASES TO CELEBRATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY The family of Gene and Anna Douglas would like to invite you to share in the Golden Anniversary celebration of their parents on Feb. 21, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Tuttle, 14 S.W. Second Street, from 2-4 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Gene and Anna met at a church softball game while Gene, a native of Tuttle, Okla., was in the Navy, stationed in Jamul, Calif. Gene was representing the Navy, playing baseball, basketball and football. A native of San Diego, Calif., Anna and her two older sisters were actively singing in a trio for churches, the local Naval Bases and on ships that were docked in the San Diego Harbor. They were married by Reverend Herbert Amster, Anna's father, in Jamul, and lived in California for eight years, followed by 42 years in Oklahoma. They currently live in Sulfur, Okla. Both Gene and Anna are graduates of USAO in Chickasha, Okla., with teaching degrees. Anna retired in 2001. Gene has been a construction contractor for the past 37 years. Their children - three are in church ministry, and two are business owners - include: Michael and Scherie Douglas, of Houston, Texas, and children Michele and Joe Podhorsky, Jaime and Andrea; Tim and Pam McClure, Chickasha, and children Timilie and Klay Hughes, granddaughter Lexis Hughes, Kristie and Kyle; Mark and Rhonda Douglas, of Edmond, Okla., and children Erin, Jacob and Rebecca; Bryan and Sandy Hetherington of Sulphur, and children Grant, Alec and Bradley; Matthew and Jill Douglas of Merrillville, Ind., and children, Jens, Caleb, Taylor and Parker. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
