Jobe turned 95 years old on St. Patrick’s Day. He and Edna have been married over 68 years. One of 10 children born to William B. “Doc” and Donnie Belle (Colville) Jobe on March 17, 1909, in Cleburne, Texas, Leo attended Ninnekah School in Ninnekah, Okla., with his six brothers, Avery, Alvin, Johnny, Jack, Grady, and Oscar, and three sisters, Willie, Maye, and Dorothy. On Sept. 28, 1935, Leo married Edna Diggs, daughter of John Wesley Diggs, of Chickasha, Okla. They then lived one mile east of Chickasha on what was called the Brigham place. Leo was employed by Chickasha Auto Supply Store until he started his own auto supply route business. Edna worked in the Grady County Courthouse. About 1942, they moved to Hayward, Calif., so Leo could go into defense work during World War II. After the war, the Jobes and their four children Melita, Glenn, Barbara, and Sheila moved back to a farm near Norge, Okla., for three years. In 1949, the family moved back to California, living in Santa Rosa, Calif., until 2002.
