The reception will be a come-and-go event, and is planned for Sunday, August 31, 2003 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Parlor of First Baptist Church, 4th and Colorado, Chickasha, OK. James and Jimmie were married on September 5, 1953 in Okmulgee, OK. They both attended and graduated from Okmulgee High School. The couple has lived in Oklahoma for the entire 50 years of their married life, including Okmulgee, Stillwater, Midwest City, Poteau, McAlester, and Chickasha. They raised two daughters, Julie and Jill, and now have two sons-in-law, Dusty Pruitt and Brad McClure, and four grandchildren, Tyler and Jessica Pruitt, and Molly and Matthew McClure. James graduated from Oklahoma State University, served in the Air Force, and in the Korean War. He worked for the U.S. Soil Conservation Service in the watershed planning department until retirement. Jimmie graduated from the Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts (now USAO). She taught school in McAlester, Ninnekah, and Chickasha for a total of 14 years until her retirement. She then worked for ASCOG for ten years, and since retiring from there, has continued to work as a volunteer for Hospice. Both now enjoy attending as many Oklahoma State sporting events as they can manage. They also enjoy watching their grandchildren’s sporting events as well. The family would like to publicly thank them both for their commitment to each other, and the Christian example they have set for their family and friends over the last 50 years. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
