Ladwig and Lucille D. Williams were married at 5:15 p.m. 7 May 5, 1955 in Troy, Kansas by J. Warren, Justice of the Peace. Louise Williams was her sisters Maid of Honor and Kenneth Ladwig, Bob's brother was Best Man. Bob and Lucy met in 9th grade at Atchison High School, in Kansas and began dating in 11th grade. After graduation in 1952. Bob went to work for Blish Mize and Salesman in Atchison and Lucy went to work for Atchison County Hospital in the OB Department. Bob was drafted into the Army on May 13, 1953 and was stationed in Swaback, Germany. He was discharged on April 29, 1955 and he and Lucy married six days later. Bob returned to work with Blish Miz and Lucy became a housewife. In 1961 Bob and Lucy accepted a transfer with Blish Mize and with three young daughters in tow moved to Chickasha. Bob traveled extensively with Blish Mize selling supplies to lumber yards across the state. In 1967, tired of constant travel Bob accepted a position with one of his clients, Virgin Lumber Company in Chickasha. He was there until 1969 when he accepted a position with Chickasha Manufacturing as a machinist. He held this position for 26 years retiring May 26, 1995. Also during this time Bob devoted 27 years to the local Army Units. From 1963 throught 1981 he transferred to the Army Reserve Unit where he served until his retirement in 1990 at the rank of E-7 Master Sergeant. Bob had also been a Reserve Police Officer for the City of Chickasha since 1978, where until 1999 he could usually be found at local football or basketball events and parades. After 20 years of raising children Lucy decided to return to work. She joined the staff at Grady Memorial Hospital in March 1975. She took the necessary classes at Canadian Valley VoTech and received her certification as a C.N.A. She worked 14 years as a Nurses Aide on both 1st Medical and on 2nd Surgery, filling in on OB or ICU as needed. In 1989 she took additional training and moved into the position of Ward Clerk in ICU. After 19 1/2 years Lucy retired in October 1994. Bob and Lucy have been members of the local Elks Lodge #2125 since 1979. Bob and Lucy have 5 children. Rae and Dale McElroy of Chickasha, Irene and Larry Goates of Ninnekah, Patricia and Chris Lee of Wray, Colorado, Rebecca and Donny Wilhoit of Blanchard, and Robert, Jr. and Donna Ladwig of Tuttle. They have 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Robert, Sr. (Bob) and Lucille (Lucy) Ladwig will be celebrating 50 years of marriage on May 6, 2005, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the First National Bank Banquet Room. All friends and family are invited to join them in celebrating this glorious occasion.
