A. "Sonny" and Jane Terrell request the pleasure of your company in their celebration. A reception will be Saturday, June 12, 2004, at 2 p.m. at College Heights Baptist Church, 1202 Grand Avenue, Chickasha, Okla., where they are members. The reception will be in the fellowship hall, and the entry is from the west parking lot. Sonny and Jane were married June 19, 1954, in a home weding at Pernell, Okla. Their first home was nearby in Elmore City, Okla. Because of Sonny's oilfield work, they were transferred many times in the Oklahoma and Texas oilfields with 24 of their 50 years spent in south Texas. Most of Sonny's employment was in sales, training, and management. Sonny retired in 1993 from Petrolite Corporation. After retiring from the oilfield, Sonny and a partner bought Bennett Tire at Ninnekah, Okla., and moved it to Rush Springs, Okla., where he operated the business as partner/manager for five years. In 1999, he sold out to his partner and retired for the second time and is still retired today. During the course of following her husband's oilfiend work, Jane not only was a wonderful homemaker, wife, and mother, but sought employment in various places. During her years of employment, Jane worked for the U.S. Postal Service at Ratliff City, Okla., in Luling, Texas, for Buckholtz Real Estate and Insurance, in Enid, Okla., as secretary and bookkeeper for Wade Chamber, and in Victoria, Texas, for Victoria Bank and Trust in the Marketing Department, where she retired in 1981. Throughout the many different places they lived, they were always active in a Baptist Church nearby. Jane also did some work in the church offices, and both were involved in various ways to serve their Lord through the church ministry. They have three children: son Tony of Temple, Texas, daughter-in-law Mary and grandson Kenny; son Rocky of Oklahoma City, Okla., daughter Darla Williams of Rockport, Texas, son-in-law Mike and grandson Stratton. Please forgive our parents if they brag too much on their two grandsons. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
